Friday: Arrive and Settle In

Sunday: Valentine’s Day on the Property

Keep the actual holiday for the place you came for. Walk the property’s own mile of private trails, which run along both banks of the creek and climb to overlooks at several elevations. There’s a bench at each waterfall, so bring a thermos and stop at every one.

For dinner, skip the prix fixe crowd and cook in. Pick up groceries on the way in Friday, plan one good meal, and eat it with the waterfalls lit up outside. Finish at one of the two fire pits, or back in the hot tub.

Monday: Presidents Day Checkout

Presidents Day Weekend 2027: Dates and Planning

Presidents Day 2027 is Monday, February 15, the day after Valentine’s Day. That makes the long weekend Saturday, February 13 through Monday, February 15. Add Friday off and you’ve got four days.

• Book early. A holiday Monday stacked on Valentine’s Day means two kinds of travelers want the same weekend: couples and families with a day off school or work.
• Make dinner reservations when you book your stay. Saturday night in Asheville will be the hardest table to get all month.
• Plan for mountain weather. February can bring clear, mild days or a dusting of snow. Check the forecast before you leave, and plan on driving, since a vehicle is necessary to reach the property.
